G-train to Chengde, about 1 hour. Your passport is your ticket at the gates, so keep it handy.

Drop your bags at the hotel near Lizhengmen, the resort’s main gate. It accepts foreign passports.

Chengde Mountain Resort: the Main Palace halls first, then a slow loop around the lakes. Allow 3–4 hours.

If it rains: spend longer in the Main Palace halls, which are mostly indoors, and move the lake loop to tomorrow morning.

On-Trip Pass: Full refund if never activated. Once activated, refunded pro rata only if we miss our response-time promise.
